The explosive garage-rock duo known as The Courettes has taken audiences by storm around the world. As innovative heirs to Phil Spector’s infamous and beloved ”Wall Of Sound”, the band has kicked in the door to an international garage-rock adventure. Their albums have garnered acclaim and critical praise from some of the world’s biggest, leading music media, such as American Rolling Stone, CLASH Magazine and MOJO, all the while audiences have fallen in love with the always explosive live shows at venues across Europe, the US, Japan and South America .

The latest offering ”The Soul of The Fabulous Courettes” has been dubbed one of their best albums to date and we are so hyped to see the Danish-Brazilian duo bring the blistering ramalama to our stage on May 15th.

MONUMENT 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY 15/2

It’s feels like no time at all as well as forever; this first year of existence. It took a LONG TIME to get Monument started, but it was worth every second of blood, sweat and tears (and having to use a bucket for a toilet while building; but dont ask about that). And it’s been worth it thanks to all the bands, the staff, the music, collaborators, DJ’s, vendors, friends and family – but honestly, most of all thanks to YOU, the guests and visitors. The people buying tickets, making the trip out to Ringön and making sure we survived our first year.

We don’t take this for granted and so, on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15, let’s have a party together! We’ve invited a bunch of friends to fill the stage and DJ-booth and naturally the bars and kitchen will be stacked. Tickets are 50kr + service and that all goes to the bands, so make sure to grab one and get ready to celebrate.

WHORES.
Formed in 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia, WHORES. has established themselves as one of the most successful and motivated bands in the noise-rock genre today. Elements of Helmet, Melvins, and the Amphetamine Reptile roster can be heard throughout their catalog, but Whores. are no regurgitated throwback act. Through intense, cathartic live performances and the perfected aggressive tenacity present on their recordings, the band has gained a fervent following sure to do nothing but grow in the years to come.

HELP
Help is the frenzied sound of a broken and collapsing society realized as a noise-punk band from Portland, Oregon.

Formed in 2018 by Ryan Neighbors (Guitar/vocals), Morty (bass), and Bim Ditson (drums), the members of HELP spent the previous decade or so in more restrained bands. Ditson with grinding indie rockers And And And, Neighbors with alt-pop dynamos Portugal. The Man and with his electronic project Hustle and Drone. And Morty, Morty has been around the track once or twice. With Help, they are retrieving the punk roots each member had
put down in their teens. They are ripping the seams back open
to see what’s really inside.

”Everyone is angry,” says Neighbors, ”Make some art about it.”

The Kind, Wolfschmidt & Lillebror 31/1

Crucial Cadence presenterar: The Kind, Wolfschmidt & Lillebror LIVE på Monument 31/1

The Kind: Med en förening av det organiska och det mekaniska skapar The Kind musik som snabbt pendlar mellan rå aggressivitet och ömsint genuinitet. Det som började som göteborgsfödda Nemo Spardings soloprojekt har med det senaste släppet ”All The Lies In Truth [EP]” lämnat det kapitlet bakom sig, och konstaterat bandet ett faktum. Bandet har tillsammans tagit över majoriteten av hemstadens klubbscener och är nu efter en längre paus från livegig tillbaka med kommande fullängdare och allt vad det innebär. Med influenser från ambiensen i band som DIIV och Bdrmm tillsammans med trycket från The National och IDLES blandar The Kind genrer flitigt, med målet att alltid utmana genrer, hur kommer man annars vidare?

The Kind har nu spelat in debutalbum under det nya namnet och förbereder sig inför en explosiv start på 2025, en nystart för bandet.

Wolfschmidt: Wolfschmidt är grungegaze-bandet från Göteborgs industriella hjärta, fött på Ringön 2021 som en experimentell inspelningsduo och har idag vuxit till en explosiv liveakt.

Bandet är aktuellt med debut-EP:n Cosmic Joke, som har blivit ryggraden i deras hyllade spelningar under hösten, där setet fortsätter att utökas med osläppt material.

I kontrasten mellan sin kaotiska nerv och mörka introspektion har Wolfschmidt format en unik röst inom Göteborgs indiescen.

Lillebror: Det pratas ibland om gamla, nya och kommande indie-vågor från Göteborg. Men vi som lever mitt i oceanen ser det mer som ständiga rörelser framåt. Och varje år är en ny våg i sig. Bandet Lillebror är definitivt en del av 2024 års framåtrörelse, och med den självbetitlade EP:n som släpptes den 29 februari togs stora steg i rätt riktning. Till skillnad från den första singeln ”Brutus” fick DIY-delen lite puts, samtidigt som det råa och ungdomliga bevarades.

Resultatet vittnar om tydliga influenser från det förflutna, men med blicken riktad framåt – precis som det ska vara. En fot ska alltid vara bakåt, en fot ska alltid vara framåt.

Mundane is the bastard child of Gothenburg’s indierock/punk & emo scene, grown out of the creative hub/scene that is Sekten back in 2018.

These gentlemen do not shy away from showing their best sides whilst doing what they do best: a charming version of Blur, American Football & The Strokes. Yes, it’s that good.

The band is currently out with their latest single ”Riff Raff”, a first taste from an upcoming release, not quite solidified with neither name nor release date. But hey, den som väntar på nått gott! Actually, screw that – we ain’t waiting long at all as this show is super-close, super-free and super.. we don’t know. Super-Saturday? Yeah, that sounds good. SUPER- SATURDAY!

Original members Arthur Seay and Mike Cancino are bringing special guests Collyn McCoy (Ultra Electric Mega Galactic) and Mark
Sunshine (RiotGod) along to deliver classic stoner hits and lay waste to Europe.

The classic album ”Coping with the Urban Coyote” is performed along with special treats from the acclaimed “Best of Wayne Gro”.

This will be an evening in the sign of heavy rock, fuzz and worshipping of the riff. Make sure to not miss this one!
